Keynote Speaker – 2024

Keynote Speaker: Mr. Michael A. Jackson

Former professional American football player who played linebacker for eight seasons with the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL).

Our Speaker for the 2024 Tri-Citian of the Year Banquet is Mr. Michael Anthony Jackson. His roots are in the city of Pasco, having been born to long time Pasco residents Ruth and Webster Jackson. Michael graduated from Pasco High in 1975 and attended the University of Washington on an athletic football scholarship. While he was a Husky, he set multiple football records that still stand intact today! Following his time at the University, he spent the next eight years of his career starting as linebacker for our very own Seattle Seahawks.

Throughout his illustrious athletic career, Michael won numerous awards and recognition. At Pasco High, he was a 3 sport (football, basketball, and baseball) letterman for three straight years. He continued as a 4-year football letterman at the UW and earned All-Conference Linebacker in 1977 and 1978, All-Coast Linebacker, Team Captain, and much more! He continued with more accolades throughout his star-studded career with the Seahawks, including Most Valuable Player in 1981, until he retired from football in 1986.

Michael married Kathleen in 1989 and together they enjoy their four children, nine grandchildren, and one great grandchild. And even coming home to see Ruth and Webster every once in a while!

Following his football career, Michael went back to school and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in drama and a Masters’ Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. As a professional actor he has appeared in 15 film and television roles. He has generously supported the efforts of the YMCA, Boy Scouts, March of Dimes, and United Way.

Michael is well versed in the challenges that face our children today. His audiences transcend every age and gain tremendous insights from Michael’s ability to translate his gridiron experiences into everyday applications that create success.
